Alayna Townsend, Ph.D., CCC-SLPSpeech Pathologist
Dr. Alayna Townsend is a nationally certified and licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the Center for Autism and Related Conditions at the Children’s Learning Institute. Dr. Townsend specializes in performing diagnostic speech, language, and social communication evaluations for infants and young children suspected or diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). She also has experience in providing school based speech and language intervention to children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Dr. Townsend earned her master’s degree at the University of Cincinnati and her doctoral degree at Howard University in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She completed her postdoctoral research fellowship as a LoneStar LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities) fellow in Center for Autism and Related Conditions. She is also an Adjunct Faculty member and Clinical Educator at the University of Houston in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
