Setting the Digitizer/Touchscreen / Setting the Date & Time / Using Note Pad

Tap “Home”.
Go to “All” (in top right corner).
Tap “Prefs” (Preferences).

Options within the Preferences program include:

• Digitizing
• Date and Time
• Sounds and Alerts
• Power
• Writing Area

Setting the Digitizer/Touchscreen

If you encounter problems with the screen not responding to your tapping, it may be a problem with
the alignment of the screen. This is similar to aligning the tires on your car.
To digitize:

• Tap “Home”.
• Select "All" from categories list.
• Tap on "Prefs" icon.
• Tap on "Digitizer/touchscreen" in top section of screen.
• Read and follow directions tapping in the middle of the concentric circles as they appear.
• Tap as close to the center of the circle as possible.

Setting the Date & Time

It is very important for your handheld to be set on the correct date and time. Your children’s
assessments will be time and date stamped based upon the date set on the handheld.

To set date and time:

• Tap “Home”.
  
• Select "All" from categories list.
• Tap on "Prefs" icon.
• Tap "Date & Time".
• Location - set for time zone
• Tap on date shown.
• Use arrows to adjust year.
• Tap correct month and date.
• Tap on time shown.
• Use arrows to change highlighted number in hours and
  minutes.
• Tap "AM" or "PM".
• Tap “OK”.
• Tap “Done”.

Using Note Pad

Note pad allows you to take notes in your own personal handwriting. Record anything from a quick
reminder to a phone number.

To enter a note pad:

• Tap on "Note Pad".
• Select "New".
• Write on the screen in your own handwriting.
• Select "Done".
