IERI Online Professional Development Grant

CIRCLE, in collaboration with Teachscape, is offering a state of the art professional development program for early childhood educators. The goal of this program is to enhance children's cognitive development. Our focus is on teachers who work with four year olds. IERI-Interagency Educational Research Initiative provides the funding for this five year study. Federal agencies represented include the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Education and the National Institutes of Health.

The pilot was conducted in the Houston area in the Fall of 2003. In January of 2004, the project was upscaled to the following sites: Miami, Florida, Prince George County Maryland, and Columbus, Ohio. In the fall of 2005, the project will be upscaled to include Corpus Christi, Texas.
