Preschool Curriculum Evaluation Research Grant (PCER)
U.S. Department of Education study evaluating two preschool curriculums for language and literacy in Spring Branch ISD and Neighborhood Centers Head Start, Inc. Targeted teachers in these sites are helping to evaluate these curriculums. Some teachers receive weekly mentoring and some do not. The control classrooms continue with the same curriculum they have been using. There is pre and post testing of randomly selected children. Targeted teachers will receive a monthly curriculum implementation check. In addition, there is a National Assessment portion which includes testing of children, teacher observation, and parent interviews. The children will be followed longitudinally into kindergarten, first and second grades.
